The artisanal and traditional production of cheese is part of the historic heritage of Switzerland.
It is in this country of nature and pastures that the society Margot Fromages is born, in the mountains chain of Jura, more than a century ago.
Margot Fromages, cheese refiner since 1886, first specialized in refining Gruyère AOP, later became expert in refining, marketing and exporting most of the famous Swiss cheeses, internationnally recognized as being part of the finest cheeses in the world.

Switzerland is recognized for its cleanliness and its rich nature. Our mountains are offering to our cows pastures covered with an amazing flora.
Our cows always free in our domains, fed with fresh grass in summer and hay in winter are delivering a milk rich in natural elements and of a very high quality.
The milk is the main product necessary to manufacturing cheese. It will be heated for a long time in a constant temperature, stirred, pressed into copper tanks and
10 liters of milk are necessary to the production of 1kg of cheese.
Patience, knowledge and refinement will reveal and highlight its excellence.
The cheesemaking includes many steps from the beginning until its complete making.
Each one of these steps requires an ancestral knowledge and ithis is shown to the tourists for their greatest delight.
What is cheese refinement all about?
It is the period of time in which the cheese will have many cares into a fresh and humid cellar, sheltered from the light and bad weather. It is the period of time during which the cheese becomes what it is in all its fineness and this activity of experiences and traditions is also an art.
